Chi-squared distribution probability density function
Gives the probability density of a chi-squared random variable with ν degrees of freedom at a non-negative point x. It is used in statistics for hypothesis tests and confidence intervals involving sums of squared standard normal variables.
f(x) = \frac{x^{\frac{\nu}{2} - 1} e^{-x/2}}{2^{\nu/2} \Gamma\left(\frac{\nu}{2}\right)}What the symbols mean
| probability density at x | |
| value of the random variable, x ≥ 0 | |
| degrees of freedom (positive) | |
| gamma function |
