Exponential distribution probability density function
Gives the probability density of the exponential distribution, which models waiting times and lifetimes with a constant hazard rate. It is defined for x greater than or equal to zero, using the scale parameter beta, which equals the mean.
f(x) = \frac{e^{-x/\beta}}{\beta}What the symbols mean
| probability density at x | |
| value of the random variable, with x \geq 0 | |
| scale parameter, equal to the mean (the reciprocal of the rate \lambda) |
