Gaussian function
Gives a bell-shaped curve peaking at x = b with height a and width set by c. It is used to model peaks in data, blurring kernels, and the unnormalized shape of the normal distribution.
f(x) = a e^{-\frac{(x-b)^2}{2c^2}}What the symbols mean
| value of the function at x | |
| independent variable | |
| height of the peak | |
| position of the peak center | |
| width parameter (standard deviation-like scale) |
