Inductance from flux linkage
Gives the self-inductance of a circuit element as the total magnetic flux linkage divided by the current producing it. It is used to characterise coils and inductors and how strongly they oppose changes in current.
L = \frac{\Psi}{I}What the symbols mean
| self-inductance of the circuit, in henries (H) | |
| total magnetic flux linkage through the circuit, in webers (Wb) | |
| electric current through the circuit, in amperes (A) |
