Laplace transform
Converts a function of time f(t) into a function of the complex frequency s by integrating its product with e^(-st) from zero to infinity. It is widely used to solve linear differential equations and analyse control and signal systems.
\left(\mathcal{L} f\right)(s) = \int_{0}^{\infty} e^{-st} f(t)\,\mathrm{d}tWhat the symbols mean
| Laplace transform of f, a function of the complex frequency s | |
| complex frequency variable | |
| time variable (nonnegative real) | |
| original function of time |
