Logistic growth equation
Describes how a population grows when resources are limited, with growth rate slowing as the population approaches the carrying capacity. It is the standard model of density-dependent population growth in ecology.
\frac{dN}{dt} = rN \left(1 - \frac{N}{K}\right)What the symbols mean
| population size (number of individuals) | |
| time | |
| intrinsic per-capita growth rate (per unit time) | |
| carrying capacity, the maximum sustainable population size |
