Polar to Cartesian conversion
Gives the Cartesian coordinates x and y of a point from its polar coordinates, where r is the distance from the origin and theta is the angle from the positive x-axis. It is used to convert between polar and rectangular coordinate systems.
\begin{aligned} x &= r\cos\theta \\ y &= r\sin\theta \end{aligned}What the symbols mean
| Cartesian x-coordinate | |
| Cartesian y-coordinate | |
| radial distance from the origin | |
| polar angle from the positive x-axis (radians) |
