Power series
An infinite series whose terms are constant coefficients times powers of (x - c), used to represent functions near the point c. It is the basic form behind Taylor and Maclaurin expansions.
\sum_{n=0}^{\infty} a_n \left(x - c\right)^nWhat the symbols mean
| coefficient of the n-th term (a constant) | |
| variable | |
| center of the series | |
| non-negative integer index of the term |
