Enthalpy definition
Enthalpy is defined as the internal energy of a system plus the product of its pressure and volume. It is used in thermodynamics to track heat content of systems held at constant pressure, such as chemical reactions in open vessels.
H = U + pVWhat the symbols mean
| enthalpy (J) | |
| internal energy of the system (J) | |
| pressure (Pa) | |
| volume (m^3) |
