Gibbs free energy change
This gives the change in Gibbs free energy from the enthalpy change and entropy change at a given temperature. A negative result indicates that a process at constant temperature and pressure can proceed spontaneously.
\Delta G = \Delta H - T \Delta SWhat the symbols mean
| change in Gibbs free energy (J/mol) | |
| change in enthalpy (J/mol) | |
| absolute temperature (K) | |
| change in entropy (J/(mol·K)) |
