Standard Gibbs free energy change
Gives the change in Gibbs free energy for a reaction when all reactants and products are in their standard states, computed from the standard enthalpy and entropy changes at temperature T. A negative value indicates a spontaneous process under standard conditions.
\Delta G^\circ = \Delta H^\circ - T\Delta S^\circWhat the symbols mean
| standard Gibbs free energy change (J/mol or kJ/mol) | |
| standard enthalpy change (J/mol or kJ/mol) | |
| absolute temperature (K) | |
| standard entropy change (J/(mol·K)) |
