Planck relation (photon energy)
Gives the energy of a single photon from its frequency or wavelength, using the Planck constant. It is used throughout quantum physics and spectroscopy.
E=h\nu=\frac{hc}{\lambda}What the symbols mean
| photon energy (J) | |
| Planck constant (\mathrm{J\cdot s}) | |
| frequency of the photon (\mathrm{Hz}) | |
| speed of light in vacuum (\mathrm{m/s}) | |
| wavelength of the photon (\mathrm{m}) |
