Centripetal acceleration
Gives the acceleration of an object moving in a circle at constant speed, directed toward the centre of the circle. It is used in circular motion problems where the speed and radius of the path are known.
a_{\mathrm{c}} = \frac{v^2}{r}What the symbols mean
| centripetal acceleration (m/s^2) | |
| speed of the object (m/s) | |
| radius of the circular path (m) |
