Acceleration as the derivative of velocity
Gives the acceleration of an object as the instantaneous rate of change of its velocity with respect to time. It is used whenever speed or direction of motion changes.
\boldsymbol{a} = \frac{\mathrm{d} \boldsymbol{v}}{\mathrm{d} t}What the symbols mean
| acceleration vector (m/s^2) | |
| velocity vector (m/s) | |
| time (s) |
