Velocity as the time derivative of position
Velocity is the rate of change of an object's position vector with respect to time, giving both the speed and direction of motion. It is used in kinematics to find velocity from a known position function.
\boldsymbol{v} = \frac{\mathrm{d} \boldsymbol{r}}{\mathrm{d} t}What the symbols mean
| velocity vector (m/s) | |
| position vector (m) | |
| time (s) |
