Heat capacity ratio
The heat capacity ratio gives the specific heat at constant pressure divided by the specific heat at constant volume for a substance. It is used in adiabatic processes and the speed of sound in gases.
\gamma = \frac{c_p}{c_V}What the symbols mean
| heat capacity ratio (dimensionless) | |
| specific heat capacity at constant pressure (J/(kg\cdot K)) | |
| specific heat capacity at constant volume (J/(kg\cdot K)) |
