Kirchhoff's voltage law
The algebraic sum of all voltage drops and rises around any closed loop in an electrical circuit is zero. It follows from conservation of energy and is used to write loop equations when analysing circuits.
\sum_{k=1}^{n} V_k = 0What the symbols mean
| voltage across the k-th element around the closed loop, in volts (V) | |
| number of elements in the loop |
