Radioactive activity
The activity of a radioactive sample is the rate at which its nuclei decay, found as the negative time derivative of the number of undecayed nuclei. It is measured in becquerels, where one becquerel is one decay per second.
A = -\frac{\mathrm{d} N}{\mathrm{d} t}What the symbols mean
| activity of the sample, in becquerels (Bq) | |
| number of undecayed nuclei in the sample | |
| time, in seconds (s) |
