Wave speed equation
The speed of a periodic wave equals its frequency multiplied by its wavelength. It applies to sound, water, light and other waves travelling at a constant speed through a given medium.
v = f\lambdaWhat the symbols mean
| wave speed (m/s) | |
| frequency (Hz) | |
| wavelength (m) |
