Position under constant acceleration
Gives the position of an object at time t when it moves with constant acceleration, starting from an initial position and velocity. It is used in introductory kinematics for problems such as falling bodies and cars speeding up at a steady rate.
x(t)=x_0+v_0t+\frac{1}{2}at^2What the symbols mean
| position at time t (m) | |
| initial position at t = 0 (m) | |
| initial velocity (m/s) | |
| constant acceleration (m/s^2) | |
| elapsed time (s) |
