Arrhenius equation
Gives the rate constant of a chemical reaction as an exponential function of absolute temperature and activation energy. It is used to estimate how strongly reaction rates change with temperature.
k=A e^{-E_a/(RT)}What the symbols mean
| rate constant of the reaction (units depend on reaction order) | |
| pre-exponential factor, frequency factor (same units as k) | |
| activation energy (\mathrm{J\,mol^{-1}}) | |
| molar gas constant (\mathrm{J\,mol^{-1}\,K^{-1}}) | |
| absolute temperature (\mathrm{K}) |
