Rate law with rate constant
Gives the rate of a chemical reaction as the rate constant, which depends on temperature, times the concentrations of reactants A and B raised to their reaction orders m and n. It is used in chemical kinetics to relate measured reaction speed to reactant concentrations.
r = k(T)[\mathrm{A}]^m [\mathrm{B}]^{n}What the symbols mean
| reaction rate (mol per litre per second) | |
| rate constant, which depends on temperature T | |
| concentration of reactant A (mol per litre) | |
| concentration of reactant B (mol per litre) | |
| reaction order with respect to A | |
| reaction order with respect to B |
