Avogadro's law
At constant temperature and pressure, the volume of a gas is directly proportional to the amount of gas in moles, so V/n stays constant. The equation compares two states of the same gas or two gases under the same conditions.
\frac{V_1}{n_1} = \frac{V_2}{n_2}What the symbols mean
| initial volume of the gas (e.g. in \mathrm{L}) | |
| initial amount of gas substance (in \mathrm{mol}) | |
| final volume of the gas (e.g. in \mathrm{L}) | |
| final amount of gas substance (in \mathrm{mol}) |
