Charles's law
At constant pressure and amount of gas, the volume of a gas is directly proportional to its absolute temperature. It is used to predict how a gas expands or contracts when heated or cooled.
\frac{V}{T} = kWhat the symbols mean
| volume of the gas (e.g. in \mathrm{m}^3 or \mathrm{L}) | |
| thermodynamic (absolute) temperature (in \mathrm{K}) | |
| proportionality constant, constant for fixed pressure and amount of gas |
