Molality
Molality gives the amount of solute in moles divided by the mass of the solvent in kilograms. It is used to express concentration in solutions where the value must not change with temperature, such as freezing point and boiling point calculations.
b_{\mathrm{B}} = \frac{n_{\mathrm{B}}}{m_{\mathrm{A}}}What the symbols mean
| molality of solute B (mol/kg) | |
| amount of substance of solute B (mol) | |
| mass of solvent A (kg) |
