Newton's second law (force as rate of change of momentum)

The net force on a body equals the time derivative of its momentum. It is the general form of Newton's second law and holds for variable mass as well as constant mass.

F = \frac{dp}{dt}

What the symbols mean

net force acting on the body (N)
momentum of the body, p = mv (kg\,m/s)
time (s)
