Newton's second law of motion (general form)
Gives the net force acting on a body as the time rate of change of its momentum, valid also when mass varies. It is the general form of Newton's second law used in mechanics.
\boldsymbol{F} = \frac{\mathrm{d} \boldsymbol{p}}{\mathrm{d} t}What the symbols mean
| net force acting on the body (N) | |
| momentum of the body (kg·m/s) | |
| time (s) |
